The Philadelphia Women’s Detention Facility is located on State Street in Northeast Philadelphia. The facility includes 384 double-occupancy cells in a 6-story precast concrete structure. The attached Administrative Support Building is structural steel with masonry façade. The project was a total of
215,000 s.f. The project involved a state of the art electronic security system and is precision oriented.
Thomas P. Carney, Inc. self-performed the concrete, masonry, drywall and carpentry work on this project. The Women’s Detention Facility – renamed the Riverside Correctional Facility – was opened in June 2004.
